Sheridan Institute is proud to welcome and support newcomers from around the world. We offer many high-level technology programs that will help you gain entry to your professional area of expertise in Canada.

Since 2007, more than sixty internationally trained individuals have participated in Sheridan's Fast Track to Technology Occupations program and some students have already graduated and become employed in their field.

Workplace Communication Skills for Technology

One important component of your success in the Canadian workplace is your communication skills, wouldn’t you agree? This is why Sheridan is offering a TOTALLY new course to improve your work language skills. Workplace Communication Skills for Technology is an important component of your FTTO program. It gives you the necessary language skills for your field of work.

Duration:

FTTO is a full time minimum two-semester program offered during the daytime, Monday to Friday with the built in Workplace Communication Skills for Technology offered one evening and Saturday mornings. An individualized timetable will be created following an assessment of your previous credentials and work experience.

What are the FTTO requirements?

In order to apply for the FTTO program you need to have the following:

1. A detailed course by course evaluation of your post-secondary credentials. Evaluators: ( www.wes.org, http://www.icascanada.ca/applicants/services.php#deta, www.adm.utoronto.ca ,)

2. Canadian Language Benchmark ( CLB) Assessment: Minimum score of 7 for listening and speaking, 7 for reading and 6 for writing. (visit the Centre for Canadian Language Benchmarks Website at www.ixtra.com/cclb/ to find out more about the assessment tool)

3. English Proficiency Assessment results of 3.5, 3.5, 6 at the Sheridan Assessment Centre

4. Students needs to register to the Ontario Colleges at http://www.ontariocolleges.ca/portal/page/portal/ONTCOL/Apply

 

FTTO application procedures

Please consult one of our recruiters for more information. If you feel that the FTTO Program is right for you, we invite you to follow these steps to apply for admission:

STEP#1:

Fill out the OSLT Application Form (ask your recruiter)

STEP#2:

Book your *FREE* CLB Assessment at one of the L.I.N.C. Assessment Centres. Our staff can help you, or you can make your own appointment with the Assessment Centre closest to you.

STEP#3:

Contact your recruiter to advise them of your CLB score, and provide them with your documentation (photocopies of your: PR card or Protected Person letter; resume; post-secondary credentials/transcripts)

* CLB Testing is FREE for Permanent Residents or Protected Persons only
